Toileting
Children of all ages can be affected by toileting difficulties (wetting at night, wetting during the day, soiling, constipation and thread worms). Toileting difficulties can sometimes be a sign of another health or emotional need. If you are worried that your child is having toileting difficulties, please complete a school health referral or speak with your GP.

Bed wetting
DID YOU KNOW? Bedwetting affects around half a million children and teenagers in the UK (ERIC).
If your child is 5+ years of age, we recommend accessing the school health team or your GP to ask for support and advice. Your GP will want to screen your child for other related health needs so we can best treat your child.

Constipation
DID YOU KNOW? Constipation can affect 1 in 3 children and is when a child is not having a poo regularly, and when they do, the poo can be very hard and painful. Children should pass soft poo every day, or at least every other day. Take a look at this stool chart to better understand your child’s poo.

Day time wetting
DID YOU KNOW? 1 in 7 children aged 4yrs and 1 in 20 children aged 9yrs are affected. Day time wetting can vary from damp patches on underwear to completely wet clothing and a puddle. We recommend accessing the School Health team or your GP for support and advice.
